2021 Summer Faculty Fellowship Application

The Office of Sponsored Projects and the Faculty Fellowship Committee are pleased to announce that proposals will now be accepted for the 2021 Summer Faculty Fellowship! The Summer Faculty Fellowship (SFF) is for full-time tenure-track, tenured faculty and full-time librarians who are involved in an active program of scholarship.

New this year: in support of SU's strategic priorities, two fellowships will be designated to support environmental justice and sustainability scholarship.

  • Environmental Justice is defined as the empowerment of people to advocate for the health of natural and built environments and for the equitable distribution of environmental benefits and burdens throughout all communities.
  • Sustainability is defined in an inclusive way, encompassing human and ecological health, social justice, secure livelihoods and a better world for all generations. We operationalize this commitment through sustainable practices that address the organization’s environmental, social and economic impacts.

The fellowship amount is $7,100 total, paid in the summer 2021 pay periods.

Please submit the completed proposal by email to, by5pmNovember 2, 2020.

Please note that proposals received after the due date and time will not be considered.

Selected recipients will be notified in January 2021. All submitters will receive proposal feedback in early 2021.
