An Introductory Message from the Student Body President

    March 7, 2015

    Dear Seattle University Community,

The topic of adjunct and contingent faculty unionization has remained fairly dormant on campus for much of this academic year, as the National Labor Relations Board has contemplated Seattle University’s appeal. This is no longer the case. With the noticeable participation in National Adjunct Walkout Day and the recent decision by the NLRB, Student Government would like to once again join in the conversation.

The statement below is an amended version of the 2013-14 Student Government Statement on Unionization. We, as the official representation of the undergraduate student body, have amended the statement to more aptly advocate for the collective student voice, and show our continued support for our faculty’s right to self-determination.

The Student Government of Seattle University remains eager to engage in conversation about this statement with all members of the Seattle University community. We are one community.

    In Partnership,

    Eric Sype

    Student Body President
