Professor Emerita Mathematics

Years Teaching at Seattle University: 1984-2009

Janet served as Chair of the Math Department for 15 years and, at this point, is the only woman who has been a Full Professor in the Mathematics Department. She currently lives in West Seattle on Henderson Street. Her husband moved from Virginia to Seattle when he retired. Janet has a dog named Kira that she likes to walk in Lincoln Park.

Janet E. Mills Award for Undergraduate Research in Mathematics

Given annually to the graduating mathematics major who has demonstrated inquisitiveness and intellectual independence in the pursuit of mathematical knowledge. Named to honor Dr. Mills who served Seattle University so ably for 25 years.
