Biography

Ann McNally, Adjunct Professor, 2010-present

Dr. McNally returned to Seattle University as a part-time adjunct professor in Chemistry in 2010, ten years after receiving undergraduate degrees in Chemistry and the Humanities. In those ten years, she earned a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota (2006) and worked on drinking water and stormwater quality for the City of Seattle. In 2010, she resigned from the city to spend more time with her family and also teach general and organic chemistry classes at Seattle University. She is enjoying learning about active learning and other creative teaching methodologies and also continues to volunteer as the chair of the Expanding Your Horizons conference held at Seattle University. Recruiting a strong volunteer planning committee and promoting the the STEM conference among girls in neighborhoods adjoining Seattle University has been a recent goal of hers, although there is no EYH task too dirty, early, or tedious for her.
