John Dietz, Senior Engineering Manager, Cloud Data Analytics at Google

A narrative about how Big Data analysis has changed over the last 15 years, with personal anecdotes and lessons learned, including a brief look at how Google views Big Data and how to think about data in the future.

John Dietz, after graduating from Seattle University in 1995, has worked in software development for Paul Allen, Disney, and Google among others. John also started two companies, the second of which, Adometry,  was acquired by Google in 2014. In that time, he has had to change his mindset from gigabytes, to terabytes, to petabytes. He's currently a Senior Engineering Manager at Google, leading a team working on Google Cloud Data Analytics.

Meeting details will be emailed to the faculty and students.
