Virtual programs are intended for Seattle University Students, Faculty and Staff and are all provided at no additional cost.

5k. Your Way. 

UREC’s virtual 5k Your Way invites you to move your body for 3.1 miles in whichever way inspires you! Moving our bodies as a community, even while separated, unites us through experience. Stay connected with UREC, and yourself, through achieving new goals together.

  • What: A virtual 5k race completed at your own pace.
  • Where: Any place you choose to move. The digital nature of this 5k gives you freedom to hit whichever road, trail or track you want. 
  • When: Anytime on 10/17 or 10/18

Register anytime between 9/14 and 10/16 to receive the following:

  • Tips and tricks on walking, running or rolling your way to a 5k
  • Printable Bib
  • UREC Water Bottle
  • Digital badge after completing your 5k

Exercise your Right to Vote 

UREC invites you to strengthen your civic engagement by Exercising Your Right to Vote. This campaign combines two concepts we feel passionate about: taking control over your personal wellbeing and being an active member of your community. Follow along on our social media to stay engaged with voter registration and election education.

Intramural Trivia

Intramural Trivia nights will test your knowledge in all aspects of general knowledge, including movies, music, sports and science. Come with friends or come on your own to meet new friends. Pre-registration optional, but not necessary, just show up and share all that random knowledge.

Outdoor Photo Share

Bring your favorite photos and join us to connect over adventure stories! Drop-in to share photos and/or stories of your favorite outings.

Campfire Community

Outdoor Book Discussion

While it may be a little harder to get out and about, we can still enjoy the outdoors through the power of words! In this meeting, we will read a short essay and then discuss. Let’s think more deeply about our place in the outdoors, the history of the places we enjoy, and where we stand on this big beautiful world! No registration required. Open REC

SU students, staff & faculty can participate in physically distanced open recreation on SU Park and the Tennis Courts during Open REC times. All times are drop-in and do not require a reservation. Click the links below for additional details and the schedule.

Equipment Rental Program

We are happy to offer free sports, fitness and outdoor equipment rental to all students, staff and faculty. Equipment is available for rental for up-to 7 days.

Equipment Rental Hours 

  • Monday: 2:00-6:00pm
  • Tuesday: 10:00am-2:00pm, 5:00-7:00pm
  • Wednesday: 2:00-6:00pm 
  • Thursday: 2:00-6:00pm

Drop-in during the available hours to pick up equipment. See list of available equipment below.

Required to rent equipment:

  • SU ID Card
  • Face mask upon entering 
  • Proof of Daily Safe Start Approval

Patience is key during these times. We are all in uncharted waters where we have more questions than answers. Whenever you feel frustrated, take a deep breath, go outside if you can and just breathe.
