Kathleen La Voy is the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and a tenured faculty member in the Department of Psychology, where she teaches a course. She served as the chair of the department for two terms, followed by a position as Associate Dean in the College of Arts & Sciences. Her current work in the Provost’s office includes oversight of the Institutional Review Board, the Office of Sponsored Projects, the Center for Faculty Development, the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture, The Wismer Professorship, the English Language Learning Center, and the University CORE. She serves as an ex officio member of both Academic Assembly and the Program Review Committee. Her primary responsibility in the Provost’s Office is working with all faculty on issues related to their professional life and development at Seattle University. Dr. La Voy has an MA in Life Span Development and an MS in Psychological Theory. She earned her doctorate in Social and Personality Psychology from the University of California and came to Seattle University in 1988.
