Undergraduate students with eighteen or fewer credits and graduate students with six or fewer credits are eligible to participate in commencement, providing they meet the grade point standards for their degree programs as of winter quarter.
Please submit this form to request an exception to policy regarding attending commencement with deficiencies.
Undergraduate Students Only:
Graduation with honors requires the minimum completion of 90 credits earned in regularly graded courses (courses in which the grades of A, B, C, D, or F are given).
- Cum Laude 3.50 to 3.69
- Magna Cum Laude 3.70 to 3.89
- Summa Cum Laude 3.90 to 4.00
Awarded to a first-time freshman and transfer student, respectively, who has maintained the highest Seattle University grade point average throughout the undergraduate degree.
The application deadline for a certificate is the first week of the term in which you plan to complete the course work for the certificate.
