Theari is a first-generation Khmer-American and first-generation college graduate. She completed her undergraduate degree at Western Washington University with a BA in Human Services and a focus on Education and Social Justice. Before becoming a Premajor Advisor she was working at a non-profit in her home community of White Center, WA doing community building work that centered youth leadership development and working on amplifying community voice with an anti-racist lens. Now here at Seattle U, she plans to continue the work of supporting young people in their academic journey with persistence and care to move through systemic barriers. Outside of work, she is part of a leadership team of a young adult group that focuses on the connection between faith and radical justice work. She participates in organizing local community events and enjoys happy hour with friends. She also loves to cook, listening to music, caring for her family, and continuously learning how to heal from generational trauma and honoring the strength, creativity, and legacy of her ancestors.
