When to Make Travel Plans

Sign up for Orientation will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis through your SU Applicant Portal. Space at each Summer in Seattle session is limited, so please do not make any travel plans until you have signed up for a session and received a confirmation message.   


During Summer in Seattle, students stay on campus overnight in Bellarmine Hall, and have the option for an early arrival (staying the night before Day 1 of Orientation) and/or a late departure (departing the day after the session ends). We strongly encourage all students, even those who will be commuting during the academic year, to stay overnight as it's a great way to meet new friends. 

Changing Your Orientation Reservation

If you need to make any changes to your Orientation reservation, including adding early arrival/late departure, adding or removing a guest, and updating any information for either yourself or your guest(s), please contact our office at or 206-296-2525 to request changes.


Lodging Off-Campus

There are dozens of options in downtown Seattle for overnight lodging. All of our suggested hotels are within one mile of the university. Expect a 10-minute drive (~30-minute uphill walk or bus ride) from the hotels nearest the waterfront. Some offer discounts for SU friends and family, so be sure to check with the concierge before booking!



During Orientation, complimentary parking is available in our Broadway and Murphy garages.    

Directions to Campus

Airport Transportation

Sea-Tac International Airport (SEA) serves the greater Seattle area. The airport is located about 15 miles south of SU. To get to SU, take a taxi/Uber/Lyft, a shared van ride with Shuttle Express, or Link Light Rail to the Capitol Hill Station ($3.00 fare) and walk along Broadway (15 minutes) to campus.
