CLP has an 19-year history at Seattle University. Since 1998 more than 700 first-year and transfer students of color have elected to come to campus before Welcome Week to network and build relationships with one another and with upper-class Peer Mentors.
CLP builds on students' Summer In Seattle orientation by providing social networks and dialogues about what it means to be a successful student of color and an effective leader at SU. The program begins with a three-day immersion, focused on creating meaningful connections with other new students of color, upper class peer mentors, staff and faculty, and the larger Seattle community. CLP continues throughout the academic year with regular cohort meetings and social family gathering. CLP is committed to providing leadership skill development, academic success support, and social networking.
Immersion dates: September 13-15, 2017
The CLP immersion runs from Wednesday, September 13 — Friday, September 15. CLP is open to the first 55 students who register online before Wednesday, August 16th. The first 55 students who register will receive an email confirmation.
The $65 registration fee, which helps to cover the cost of the program, will be added to your fall quarter tuition bill. There are partial and full scholarships available for those in need of financial assistance.
*CLP 2017 registration is now CLOSED* (8/11/17)
