Graduating Students of Color Celebration

The Office of Multicultural Affairs invites all graduating undergraduate, graduate, and law students of color to join us at our Graduating Students of Color Celebration (GSOCC). This is a special time to honor and celebrate the many accomplishments of our graduating students of color. All students, staff, faculty, family, and friends are welcome to join us!

GSOCC Awards

Bayanihan Award - Community Service and Involvement

This award recognizes a graduating student that has been actively involved at Seattle University and our local community. She/he serves as a role model and demonstrates the importance of community involvement and inclusion through direct action.

Poder Award – Leadership & Action

This award recognizes a graduating student who has worked diligently and consistently to affect positive change among his/her peers and community. This student serves as a role model and inspires others to action on important issues that support a positive change. This individual’s actions inspire others and promote a diverse environment that fosters acceptance and inclusion to all members of the SU community.

Sankofa Award – Outstanding Faculty and Staff Recognition

This award recognizes a faculty or staff member who has made a positive impact on graduating students’ lives and on multicultural advocacy at Seattle University. This individual may be nominated by any graduating student.
