In partnership with Student Success & Outreach, the connections leadership program will be expanding its reach to support both incoming students who identify as people of color and/or first generation college students!
CLP is a program for incoming students of color to make social connections, learn about educational resources and develop leadership skills as they transition into college at Seattle University. Since 1998, CLP has been both a foundational and transformative part of the SU experience for nearly 900 first year and transfer students of color who have chosen to participate in the program.
Through CLP, students have opportunities to connect with other new students of color, upper class peer mentors, staff, faculty, and the larger Seattle community. CLP fosters an atmosphere, in which students, through relationships and intentional programming, are supported in building the foundation for a successful Redhawk Experience. Over the course of the academic year, there are regular cohort meetings and social family gatherings, to continue to develop the bonds between the program participants and with CLP is committed to providing leadership skill development, academic success support, and social networking for students of color at Seattle U.
