Graduates of the Seattle University Midwifery Program of Study are eligible to sit for the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) certification exam. Midwifery specialty track courses are taught by accomplished and practicing professors.
The Seattle University College of Nursing’s CNM doctorate program of study provides the basic core competencies and curriculum essentials required by certifying and accrediting organizations, while taking your practice many steps further. From our evidence-based simulations and clinical practice in high-tech hospital settings to a focus on global midwifery practice (which includes an optional clinical course in Global Health for Clinicians), our alumni find themselves providing critically-needed care in the U.S. and around the world. Our global lens delivers you evidence-based knowledge and expertise from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Confederation of Midwives (ICM), leading to your ability to offer superior care in both rural and urban First Nations settings, in global governmental and voluntary health care organizations, and in clinics, birth centers and hospitals in the U.S. and around the world.

The CNM sample program of study is for students entering the DNP program with an RN and all Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) students who have successfully completed pre-licensure year one.
