Mckenzie Golden, DNP-FNP '22
Mckenzie Golden is a doctoral student in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. In her project, she will evaluate the MultiCare pipeline program, a week-long summer nurse camp that aims to increase recruitment of minority, first generation and low socioeconomic high school students into the nursing profession. The program introduces an average of 110 students to nursing across 4 neighboring counties each year.
Nazira Juneiyd, DNP-FNP '22
Nazira Juneiyd is a doctoral student in the Family Nurse Practitioner program. Her project will explore ways to promote better management of type II diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in underserved communities, specifically East African communities. She will implement a community-based culturally tailored group diabetes education program focused on medication management, lifestyle modification, and T2DM knowledge for East African individuals diagnosed with T2DM.
Daniella Navarro, DNP-CNM '25
Daniella Navarro is a doctoral student in the Certified Nurse-Midwifery program. The purpose of her project, “Verducacion: Curandote con Comida [Vegga-cation: Healing the Body with Food],” is to offer culturally tailored healthy lifestyle classes through Madres de Casino Rd, an organization that supports over 300 families in addressing language barriers and food insecurities. It also offers parenting support, safe places for teens after school and access to educational programming.
