U.S. News & World Report ranked the College of Nursing #64 for its Doctor of Nursing Practice (tie)—up from #76 in 2019—and #1 among Jesuit schools included in the DNP rankings.

There are currently over 300 DNP programs in the United States, which puts Seattle University in the top 22% nationally. In addition, the DNP program in Midwifery was ranked #17 nationally (tie).

In 2012, the college admitted its first students to the post-master’s DNP in Health Systems Leadership. The DNP program currently admits students to five advanced practice tracks including, Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGNP), Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Certified Nurse-Midwifery (CNM), and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). To date, there have been 45 graduates of the DNP in Health Systems Leadership program and Seattle U’s first class of seven DNP prepared Nurse Practitioners are set to graduate in 2020.
