Paul Fontana, associate professor of physics, received a donation of computer software and hardware from Phantoms by Design, Inc., a small, local medical technology company. The donation, valued at $48,000, includes tools to support Fontana's fluid dynamics research. Fontana also presented "Thickness dependence of drag and kinematic viscosity in quasi-two-dimensional flows" at the American Physical Society Division of Fluid Dynamics meeting in Minneapolis. The paper was co-authored by two student collaborators, Ed Titmus and Adrian Kirn.
