Kate Kelly, assistant director of Conference and Event Services, Seattle University, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the Association of Collegiate Conference and Events Directors-International (ACCED-I). The award recognizes an ACCED-I member who makes contributions above and beyond the norm to the Association at the regional and/or national level.

“Kate’s winning of this award comes as no shock to me,” said Kit Morse, director of Conference and Event Services. “I know Kate is someone who always puts 100 percent into her endeavors. My only surprise is that she has found a way to participate so much in ACCED-I while still maintaining her high level of quality work on campus. Her job is very demanding, and yet at the same time, she managed to volunteer with ACCED-I in an obviously significant way.”

In announcing the award, ACCED-I recognized that Kelly has volunteered at ACCED-I Annual Conferences, served as regional leader, facilitated peer-to-peer conversations, volunteered on the Professional Development and Self-Promotion Committees, presented sessions at more than one Annual Conference and at two regional summits, hosted the Regional Summit twice, written an article for ACCED-IConnections, and been involved in many formal and informal discussions in the region.
