A social justice project designed by a group of LEMBA students several years ago received an award at the Crime Stoppers International Conference held earlier this month in Las Vegas. Tina Hagedorn, Karla Jones, Michelle Weaver, Ed Hiar, Kim Baldwin and Pete Segall received the top award in the Print Media Public Service Announcement category. The students designed and distributed pamphlets and accompanying billboards to educate the public on ways to report abuse, neglect and exploitation of senior citizens. More than 10,000 brochures were produced and distributed.  The billboards were donated and continue to be posted in high profile locations throughout the Puget Sound region.
