Carol Schneider inducted into honor society

Carol Schneider, director of Student Academic Services, has been inducted as an honorary member into the Tau Sigma Gamma Mu Chapter of the National Tau Sigma Transfer Student Honor Society in recognition of her work with transfer students.

Schneider (pictured front, left, at the induction ceremony)  has worked with and advocated for the transfer student population since she joined Seattle University in 1995. (Schneider herself was a transfer student.)

Tau Sigma is the national academic honor society designed specifically to recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students. SU's chapter is led by students Jessica Gandy as president, Amanda Uyesugi as executive vice president, Jessica Halim as vice president of finance, Dawn MacDonald Vargas as vice president of community services and Marissa Huntley as secretary. Co-advising the chapter are Laura Hauck-Vixie, academic advisor in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Angel Asuncion-Reed, assistant director of Commuter and Transfer Student Life.

Schneider joins the following current and former university administrators, staff and faculty as an honorary member: Diane Schmitz, Dhorea Brown, Audrey Hudgins, Jacob Diaz and Gwen Jackson.
