President's Report details a thriving university with bigger plans

High academic rankings, excellence in STEM education, a new Center for Science and Innovation, the Seattle University Youth Initiative changing lives, and faculty, staff, students and alumni making a difference in the world are just some of the impacts and outcomes of a Seattle University education that are highlighted in the 2016 President's Report.

The report is available on the president's page.

In his introduction of the report, President Stephen V. Sundborg, S.J., writes: "Looking at the future of Seattle University, I see an institution that is becoming ever more connected and indispensable to the city of which we are a part. We are proud to be the independent Jesuit university in the heart of Seattle. In the years ahead, Seattle University will become all the more so Seattle's university."

The president goes on to identify a number of other areas of emphasis for Seattle U in the years ahead, including construction of the new Center for Science and Innovation; expansion of the Seattle University Youth Initiative; growth of the New School of Continuing Studies; and an increasing role in contemplating the teachings of the Catholic Church through the Institute for Catholic Thought and Culture.

"With all of these and other realities coming into being, I see a thriving university in a dynamic city and one of the most vibrant Jesuit universities in the world," the president continues.

The President's Report, which you can read in full here, also profiles a number of students, alumni and faculty, including Dan Dombrowski of the College of Arts and Sciences, Bryan Adamson of the law school and Marilyn Gist of the Albers School of Business and Economics.
