He is the seventh player drafted in the last five years out of Seattle University—and the fourth Redhawk drafted by the Sounders in that same time. “I am thrilled for Hal and the Seattle Sounders,” says Coach Pete Fewing. “This has been a goal for Hal since he was young and I am really happy for him and his family. He is a great fit for the culture that [Sounders Coach] Brian Schmetzer has created and I look forward to watching him progress in his professional career." Uderitz is a native of Snohomish, Wash., and has been on the team the past four years. During that time, he has made 71 appearances for the Redhawks and tallied 13 goals to go along with nine assists. Hailed as a terrific defensive leader and was a key contributor to the team's NCAA Tournament berth this season. Additionally, Uderitz was selected to the All-WAC Tournament Team and was one of four Redhawks picked for the United Soccer Coaches All-Far West Region. SU has now had nine players selected in the MLS Draft. The Sounders have selected four Redhawks in the last five MLS SuperDrafts, with Alex Roldan most notably selected in 2017.
