New Members to the Board of Regents

The Regents serve as an advisory board to the President and as ambassadors to the university.

President Eduardo Peñalver has selected nine new members to sit on the Seattle University Board of Regents beginning this academic year. They are:

Katherine Anderson, owner, The London Plane
Sofia Aragon, ’97, Mayor of Burien, former executive director, the Washington Center for Nursing
Susan Bernal, parent of 2018 graduate, former co-chair of Redhawk Parent and Family Leadership Council 
Jiwan Hayre, ’95, chief engineer/Airplane Integration–The Boeing Company
Lakeisha Jackson, ’14, Microsoft Philanthropies 
Karen Lynn Maher, ’00, owner, LegacyONE authors, former chair of Alumni Board of Governors
Reid Nabarrete, ’87, recently retired executive/Kenworth Truck Company (PACCAR)
Essence Russ, ’07, director, Technology Access Foundation 
Pete Talevich, ’09, partners, K&L Gates LLP

Regents serve a three-year term with the option, as determined by the President, the Chair of the Regents and the Vice Chair of the Regents, of serving two additional terms for a maximum of nine years.
