Professor and Chair of English Charles M. Tung:

  • Co-organized the roundtable “Posthuman Scale and the Care to Come” and presented “Scenes of Instruction and Education in Deep Time” at the Association for the Study of the Arts of the Present Conference, Oct 27-30.

  • Was invited to participate in the media studies symposium Do Memes Think? at the Viceroy Chicago, sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council at Indiana University, Bloomington, Nov. 4-6.

  • Was invited to give a lecture, “H. G. Wells’s World Brain, Pierre Teilhard de Chardin’s Noosphere, and the University at the End of the World,” on Nov. 23 at Georgetown University, an event sponsored by Georgetown’s Future of the Humanities ProjectHumanities Initiative and Master’s Program in the Engaged and Public Humanities, as well as Campion Hall and Blackfriars Hall at the University of Oxford.
