Assistant Professor of Nursing Alic Shook was recently awarded funds through the Social Media and Adolescent Health Research Team at the University of Wisconsin, Madison School of Medicine and Public Health. With support of these funds, Shook will establish a Youth Advisory Board composed of 10 transgender and gender expansive youth from across the U.S. who will provide critical support for the development of a novel evidence- and strengths-based online sexual health intervention. In addition to gaining experience with research training and practice, youth members will also engage in professional development activities with professionals in the health sciences and gain opportunities to connect with youth with shared lived experiences nationally.
