WAC Recognizes SU for Academic Excellence

Seattle University student-athletes—124 in total—have earned 2020 Spring Academic All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors. 

Seattle University student-athletes—124 in total—have earned 2020 Spring Academic All-Western Athletic Conference (WAC) honors. Redhawks competing in spring sports, along with freshmen and transfers from fall and winter sports, were recognized by the conference.
 
Women’s outdoor track and field led the department with 22 honors. Men’s outdoor track and field and baseball both placed 16 student-athletes on the list, while softball had 13.
 
The spring team includes members of baseball, softball, men’s and women’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s outdoor track and field. To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests. Spring student-athletes were exempt from the participation barrier this year.

For the 2019-20 academic year, a total of 202 Redhawks earned Academic All-WAC accolades.
