Alexis Taylor, left, an undergraduate student studying Communication and Media, discussed “Seeking and Identifying Your Narrative” at Uncommon Student Voices on Topics that Matter on June 4. Her presentation was part of the Red Talks series put on by the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. Joining Taylor on stage (l. to r.) were Anab Nur, Shayan Chishti and Samantha Drennon.

Nur, an undergraduate student studying Public Affairs, spoke on “Culturally Responsive and Anti-Racist Education.” Chishti, an undergraduate studying International Studies with Honors in Spanish, talked about her journey and thoughts about finding herself in “Searching For Belonging: Navigating Life as an ‘American-Born Confused Desi.’” Drennon, a graduate student in the Master of Nonprofit Leadership program, discussed “The Structure of Diversity: Why the Institutional Structure of the Role of the Chief Diversity Officer Matters.”

This year’s Red Talks also featured three faculty members who addressed the theme for the year, Women’s Voices at the Intersection. Learn more at Red Talks
