Angela Rye, a 2005 graduate of SU’s School of Law, returned to campus to speak to students at Mission Day on April 12.
Rye (pictured) is principal and CEO of IMPACT Strategies, a political advocacy firm in Washington, D.C. She is a CNN political commentator and NPR political analyst. The Seattle native previously served as executive director and general counsel to the Congressional Black Caucus for the 112th Congress.
“Feels good to be home,” Rye wrote on Instagram, “I’m so inspired by the space I was blessed to share with students from my (law school) alma mater.”
At their Mission Day gathering in Campion Ballroom, students explored the theme of “Common Ground” while faculty and staff simultaneously assembled in Connolly Complex for their own Mission Day, taking up the topic “Creating the Commons, Living the Tensions: Ignatian Tools for our Times.” Assisting in the dialogue were faculty and staff (Jodi O’Brien, Catherine Punsalan-Manlimos, Mark Hearn, Tyrone Brown, Marilyn Nash and Pat Twohy, S.J.) and students (Haleema Bharoocha, Gabe Narvaez and Braden Wild).
Following their respective Mission Day programs, students and faculty and staff came together in Connolly for a lunchtime discussion.
