(Update, Aug. 8: Visit Albers Dean Joe Phillips' blog for a recap of this conference.)

More than 150 participants from nearly 50 schools across five continents will arrive at SU next week for the 24th Annual International Association of Jesuit Business Schools World Forum and the Colleagues in Jesuit Business Education 20th Annual Meeting. The joint event will take place July 22-25, with the Albers School of Business and Economics hosting.

The theme is “Innovation for Sustainability.” Featured speakers include Robert Spitzer, S.J., retired President of Gonzaga University, and Alan Mulally, former President and CEO of the Ford Motor Company. Both have Albers ties: Father Spitzer is a former holder of the Frank Shrontz Endowed Chair in Professional Ethics and Mulally is senior fellow in the Center for Leadership Formation.

Another featured speaker will be Michael Garanzini, S.J., secretary of higher education for the Society of Jesus and former president of Loyola University Chicago.

As part of the gathering, SU’s Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability will host two pre-conference workshops, Incorporating Sustainability into Curriculum and A Case Study of Integrating Inclusion, Collaboration, and Equity for a Sustainable Seattle Region.
