The luncheon featured the following speakers: 

Lainee Shaughnessy, ’18 – College of Nursing 

Originally born in Florida, Lainee and her mother lived in New Hampshire before relocating to the PNW. Lainee is a nursing major and a recipient of the Costco Scholarship. Currently Lainee works two jobs on campus, one as a desk assistant and another with mail services. 

EJ Pinera, ’18 – College of Arts and Sciences 

EJ was born in Seattle attending public schools in the area. A Sullivan Scholar, EJ is active in his church, is a member of the United Filipino Club, and is a student lead at Bailey Gatzert with the Seattle Youth Initiative. EJ is a junior studying psychology and is looking forward to studying abroad in South America next fall. 

Katrina Phiri, MBA Candidate – Albers School of Business and Economics 

Born in Zambia, Katrina moved around the world completing her undergraduate education before fate would bring her to Seattle University. A recipient of the competitive Genevieve Albers Scholarship, Katrina works as a research assistant for the Albers College, participates in the Seattle Youth Initiative, and is Co-President of the AGSA. 

David Madsen, Professor, Legacy Society Member, Scholarship Donor 

An associate professor of History at SeattleU, Dave has been a strong supporter of student scholarships and is a proud Legacy Society Member. As a scholarship recipient as an undergraduate here at SeattleU, Dave believes in giving back to help support the university which supported him.
