Medal of Honor recipient Maj. William D. Swenson, who is active duty U.S. Army, has been named to the board of the National Medal of Honor Museum. Maj. Swenson, a past recipient of Seattle University’s Alumnus of the Year honor, joined the Army in 2002. He’s served a tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan, where for his final tour he was assigned to Task Force Phoenix, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan and served as an adviser to Afghan Border Police. In addition to his Medal of Honor Maj. Swenson has earned the Bronze Star, Purple Heart and the Army Commendation Medal, among many other awards and decorations.
