Seattle University has named Michael Podlin as Vice President for University Advancement.

Podlin has been serving in this role on an interim basis since November 2013. His appointment, which was approved by the Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, is effective immediately.

Podlin joined SU a year ago as Associate Vice President for Development, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise in fundraising, particularly in higher education. Throughout the past several months, he has capably led University Advancement through a period of transition while laying the foundation for the university's capital campaign.

The university conducted a national search, and it was determined Podlin was the best candidate for the position. "I look forward to working closely with Michael in the years ahead to raise unprecedented financial resources and support for the university and our students, as well as to engage our alumni more fully," said Seattle University President Fr. Stephen Sundborg, S.J.
