Financial Management: ORGL 3050
Discover how a leader’s decision-making affects the financial health and long-term success of organizations. In this course, you will learn how to read balance sheets and financial statements, and gain a broad understanding of the basic concepts and rules of financial reporting for organizations. Course topics include audits, cash flow, debt versus equity, and profit and loss. Students will sharpen their financial acumen by examining real-world annual reports and case studies.
On successful completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Apply leadership principles in financial management planning, accountability and communication contexts.
- Analyze the three main financial statements and use those analyses to plan and strategize for financial health.
- Forecast program and organization revenue and expenses on both a cash and accrual basis. Plan for and monitor cash flow.
- Fulfill responsibility to the community by assessing and implementing systems for safeguarding and stewarding an organization’s assets.
