Language Conversation Groups

Language Conversation Groups

Language conversation groups in select modern languages provide an opportunity for students to practice language skills out of class and under the guidance of an experienced student leader. Conversation group leaders work with professors to develop materials and examples that will enhance students' understanding of the subject.

Japanese

Hi! I love conversing in Japanese language and encouraging others to do the same, no matter what their skill level. I studied Japanese language for all of my high school and college years, and lived in Japan collectively for about 5 years, which includes studying abroad and working there. I will be happy to engage with you on any level so that you can feel empowered to connect in another language.

French

Hi, I'm McCalee! I'm a senior English Literature and French double-major, and I'll be joining the LAP team for my first year as a French tutor and conversation group facilitator. I grew up in Sandpoint, Idaho and as a foodie, I love to cook, dine out, and enjoy meals with my roommates in my free time. I can't wait to meet you and speak some French!

Spanish

I am a Criminal Justice and Spanish double major, and am on SU's Improv Troupe, D1 Improv! I am also the VP of our Criminal Justice club. I love learning and getting to know new people, and I cannot wait to meet all of you. I use she/her pronouns, and am always looking for new and yummy restaurants around campus!
