SU Managed Printing - Faculty/Staff Printing

Summary

Seattle University Faculty & Staff have access to printing, scanning, copying, and (soon) faxing via SU managed printers.

Step-by-step

Printing from your University Workstation

Use The SU Print Queue

To use the SU Print Queue, you must...

  1. BE ADDED TO AN MPS PRINT GROUP
In order to print work documents from your department's budget, you must be added to an MPS Print Group. Student workers may be added to MPS Print Groups, but be sure to add their regular student account to the Group, NOT their SA-account.
  2. HAVE PRINTER DRIVER AND APPLICATION INSTALLED
    • Mac users: A print driver and application must be installed in order to print from a University Mac. Most University Macs will already have this installed. If yours does not have a print driver and application pre-installed, please contact the SU Help Desk for assistance. For advanced print presets and printing instructions, please click here
    • PC users must restart their University computers, and the printer driver and application will be auto-installed when you next log in. For your University PC laptop, please plug it into the University Network on campus using an ethernet cord, restart the computer, and log in to auto-install.
  3. PRINT YOUR DOCUMENT
When you click to print on your document and send it to the SU Print Queue, you may go to any MPS machine on campus, log in with your SU username and password or your Campus Card, and your document will be printed there. Your document will not print until you have logged in at an MPS machine.

Printing from Off Campus or Personal Computers

Use the Virtual Desktop

Users may connect to the Virtual Desktop to print as if you were using a University Workstation. If you are using the Virtual Desktop to print from a University laptop from off campus, please remember that when you take the laptop back to campus you'll want to plug it into an Ethernet cable and restart the machine. This ensures that the laptop is ready to print on campus again.

Personal Printing

Personal print/copy jobs should be charged to your Personal Account on their Campus Card. If no money has been deposited into your account, then you cannot use it to print. When you click print on your computer, you may log in at any printer on campus to print the file there.
