Laptop Recommendations for Students

SeattleU students who choose to purchase a laptop for use during their time at the university need a laptop that will meet a variety of needs. Choosing the right one can be challenging, so we've compiled a list of specs that work across a variety of majors and departments.

IT Services recommends that laptop purchases include the following features:

  • Intel i5 or i7 processor
  • minimum 16 GB of RAM
  • minimum 500GB hard drive

When deciding between a PC and Mac, students may want to speak to their department to see if there are software requirements that will necessitate one or the other.
