Travis Nation is the Vice Provost for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at Seattle University.
As Chief Information Officer, Travis is charged with the creation of IT initiatives that align with Seattle University’s Strategic Directions, institutional culture, and long-term goals. Travis provides leadership for the continued development of an innovative, secure, and robust information technology environment throughout the University.
The primary responsibilities for his office encompass a wide variety of strategic technology issues:
- Governance and policy
- Resource allocation
- Information technology protocols
- The IT Services organization
IT Services provides support for classroom and event technologies, delivery of IT infrastructure and services, information security systems and compliance, administrative systems, business intelligence and analytics, and client support services.
Travis represents the Seattle University’s information technology interests by affiliating with several regional and national higher education organizations, including:
- Northwest Academic Computing Consortium (NWACC)
- Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) Conference on Information Technology Management
Prior to his current role, Travis served as the Associate Chief Information Officer for seven years. Travis has years of experience leading in higher education, government, and the private sector. Travis holds a M.B.A., Information Technology Management from the University of Southern New Hampshire and a B.S., Business Administration from University of Wyoming.
