Guest Access

If a person visiting campus only needs to access the internet through a web browser, then ITS recommends they use the SU-Visitor Wi-Fi instead of requesting one of the accounts below.

Temporary guest accounts can be requested for short-term access to select Seattle University resources by non-affiliated individuals.  The following guest account types are available:

  • Guest- Provides access to select internal systems including classroom podium computers, lab computers, and access to the campus network if the computer has a wired ethernet connection. If a visitor just needs to access content over the internet from a web browser, then a guest account is not needed and the person can use SU-Visitor with a non-SU email address.
  • Vendor- Commonly used for contractors. Provides access to select internal systems, select department-specific systems, wired internet connections, and VPN. If the user needs access to SU-Secure Wireless, an additional request can be submitted and approved.

The lifespan of a guest account is as follows:

  • Guest: default is from the start date up to June 30th
  • Vendor: default is from start date up to June 30th

All guests must change the password before using the account. Go to pwreset.seattleu.edu/change.aspx to change the password. Additionally, guests must follow and abide by the Computer Acceptable Use Policy published at https://www.seattleu.edu/policies/.

Request a Guest Account

A SeattleU staff or faculty member must request and sponsor the guest account. To request an account, please submit this form (you must be on the campus network or connected to the VPN to access this form) and once all necessary tasks have been completed, ITS will notify you.

The table below indicates what resources can be accessed by each account type.
