Hi, my name is Dale Watanabe and I am one of the Assistant Directors at the ISC. I work closely with Marie Johnston so we can keep up to date on all of our fantastic international students. A little about me: I taught English as a Second Language for seven years (3 years in Hyogo-ken, Japan and 4 years at Edmonds Community College) and have worked at Seattle University since winter quarter of 2001. I grew up on Seattle's Beacon Hill (famous for the pink building) and live in the house I grew up in. As some of you may know, my office is always open so please drop by and say hello!

My name is Marie Johnston and I am one of the Assistant Directors here at the ISC. I graduated with my M.A. in Student Development Administration in Higher Education at Seattle University in Spring 2016. During my graduate studies, I worked as the graduate assistant here at the ISC where I developed programs and events. Now, I am an advisor and will also work with international alumni! My undergraduate program was at Western Washington University where I got my B.A. in Cultural Anthropology and a music minor with a focus on cello. I was also a Running Start-Transfer Student and got my AA Degree at South Puget Sound Community College in Olympia, WA. A little about me- I grew up going back and forth between the U.S. and Fukuoka, Japan and consider both to be home. In my spare time, I teach cello and orchestra to kids in Seattle Central District with Seattle Music Partners.

Assistant Director

My name is Sabeen Chaudhry. I moved to the United States from Pakistan in 2007. It turned out to be a great opportunity to pursue my interest in education. I completed my Masters in Student Development Administration at Seattle University in 2012. Given my background as an immigrant, I was drawn to working with International students. I worked as an International Student Advisor at Bellevue College for 2.5 years. Helping International students navigate the unique challenges of the US education system has been a rewarding experience for me. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, travel, and discussing current social and political issues on social media (sometimes with complete strangers sitting thousands of miles away).
