I was born and raised in Cedar Grove, New Jersey, college-educated at Penn State, and got my master's degree at Seattle University where I've now worked for over 10 years. With a background in residence life/student leadership and rooted in principles of inclusion and equity, I am proud to work with our team to provide a wide variety of options for students. Whether you're just beginning your leadership journey or see us as another stop along the way, I hope that you will take advantage of everything SU has to offer.
When I'm not working, I'm spending time with family: my husband Ryan, our son Eli, and our little dog Sybil.

Marissa is a SoCal baby - born and raised in El Centro, California. From a young age, she knew she wanted to follow in her mothers footsteps and work as an educator. If you had asked Marissa in her early twenties, she would have confidently told you she was going to be a High School US History teacher. Plans quickly changed when she found her passion in higher education/student involvement. For the last 7 years, Marissa lived in Las Vegas, Nevada - working primarily in campus activities and campus life development. She is enthusiastic to join the Seattle University team and work closely with SGSU, GSC and leadership programming. Marissa is a huge student first advocate and looks forward to building connections with the students of Seattle U.

My experience as a first-generation, Afro-Latinx student, from a low-socioeconomic household, ignited my passion for supporting students holistically and returning to Seattle University as a full-time staff. For as long as I can remember, I always loved being involved in clubs, organizations that would both enhance my leadership but also challenge me to view things from a different perspective. My high school experience in Texas instilled in me the value of campus pride and tradition and I hope to support students at Seattle University to understand how they shape and inform the Redhawk experience through their spirit. I'm looking forward to meeting you Redhawks and please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anyway I can be of support to you during your time on campus!
