Emily Graham is a pursuing a major in Civil Engineering and Spanish at Seattle University. Emily will be interning with Miyamoto International Inc., Nepal. She will support the engineering team in carrying out structural vulnerability and post-earthquake damage assessments and also provide engineering support on structural analysis and design projects.
Emily hopes to enter the field of international development upon graduation and is currently pursuing funding to visit the Forbidden City in China to study the structural engineering components of their earthquake resilient buildings. She is excited to spend this winter in Nepal doing seismic engineering work, ensuring that communities affected heavily by earthquakes are able to withstand future disasters.
