Quinn Annand is a senior economics major and philosophy minor, originally from Portland, Oregon. Currently, Quinn is living in Sololá, working for Friendship Bridge, a non-profit organization focused on providing Guatemalan women with access to small loans and education in an effort to alleviate and eventually eliminate poverty. As an intern with Friendship Bridge, Quinn has met and learned from hundreds of Guatemalan women from communities all over the western half of the country. In his final year of undergraduate studies, Quinn is exploring post graduate opportunities, and is currently interested in the economic aspects of immigration, criminal justice, and development policy.
Quinn is an enthusiastic recreational basketball player, with an intramural championship pedigree. Beyond playing basketball, Quinn enjoys talking about his individual basketball triumphs to friends and family who have no interest in listening. One day he hopes his name will generate Google search results.
