The housing selection process for 2021-2022 will start February 9, 2021. An email will be sent to current residents regarding the process. The continuing student housing process is a lottery system of randomly generated dates and times by class when current residents will log onto the Seattle U Housing Portal to select a room. Once notified of your date and time slot, continuing students will select a room using the self-service system through the SU Housing Portal.
The university is actively monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and housing will notify students of any changes in housing for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Students are required to live on campus and purchase the Residential meal plan if they fall into any of the following categories:
If you are currently a freshmen/first-year student and will be a sophomore next academic year, you are required to submit an application and will be assigned a time slot to choose a bed space.
If you are junior or senior next academic year and looking for on-campus housing, fill out the housing application by the deadline to be eligible for housing selection. As a rising junior or senior, you will only be able to choose a bed space where available at the time of your time slot.
Additional Note to Rising Juniors and Seniors
As you know, by University policy, freshmen and sophomores are required to live on-campus. This means there are a limited number of rooms available each year for rising junior and senior students in University-administered residence halls and apartments.
Additionally, the Housing & Residence Life campus housing lottery does not guarantee housing to all 3rd and 4th year students seeking on-campus housing because of the live-on requirement for 1st and 2nd year students. Therefore, all rising juniors and seniors are strongly encouraged to consider and evaluate all housing options for the 2021-22 academic year beyond applying for SU housing. Please be advised, on a space available basis, rising juniors and seniors do receive priority consideration when applying for Vi Hilbert Hall and The Douglas Apartments. Both communities are student housing partners of Seattle University.
For more information about space availability, leasing information, room rates, a tour, etc., please contact:
NOTE: Redhawk Dining meal plans are not required of Junior/Senior/Grad students residing in either The Douglas Apartments or Vi Hilbert Hall but optional campus meal plans are available if desired.
Graduate/Law students will only be able to see a select grouping of rooms within the Murphy Apartment complex. Campus housing for Graduate/Law students is extremely limited. If space is not available in Murphy Apartments, you will be placed on the wait list.
Please see Cancellation Policy.
The deadline to submit your request to Disability Services is February 26.
Junior/Senior medical requests are not guaranteed, however we anticipate offering housing to all students seeking on-campus housing.
Accommodations may be requested for you and only you. We are not able to accommodate roommate requests in conjunction with a medical request.
You will be signing up for the entire academic year: fall, winter and spring quarters.
Be sure to check your SU email account for Housing Selection information and appointment times!
