Campaign Launch: Michael Podlin and Scott McClellan brought forth to the Cabinet an update on the capital campaign to date and the plan going forward with the public phase. Aly Vander Stoep, AVP for Advancement; Jonathan Brown, Asst. VP for Alumni Engagement; Kristen Kirst, Director of Advancement Communications and Marketing; and Beth Bello, Asst. Campaign Director, shared the highlights from FY19. $245M has been raised to date; the goal for FY20 is to complete the CSI pillar of the campaign. The Cabinet was updated on upcoming events and viewed the campaign videos and the proposed marketing plan.

Enrollment Update: Provost Shane Martin shared that the enrollment numbers continue to hold for the upcoming academic year. Enrollment Services, in collaboration with the schools and colleges, will reach out to those students who have confirmed attendance but have not registered for fall quarter classes. The Cabinet will be kept apprised of enrollment numbers.

Commencement 2020: Provost Martin updated the Cabinet on the location of the 2020 Commencement in light of the ongoing renovation of Key Arena. The Commencement planning group will confirm a location in the coming weeks.

Academic Affairs Update: Provost Martin shared a personnel update within the Academic Affairs division.

Jesuits West Leadership Workshop: Fr. Sundborg provided a briefing on the attendance by eight university members to the Jesuits West meeting of leaders from across the Jesuit works of the province (higher ed. institutions, secondary and pre-secondary ed., parishes, retreat and spirituality centers) at Santa Clara University. Over 250 people attended. Seattle University is scheduled to host this meeting in the fall of 2020.

University Dog Policy: Tim Leary updated the Cabinet on the review of the university’s current dog policy. This is in response to several off-leash dog incidents on campus in past several weeks. Discussion followed as how to communicate any change in the policy to the campus and the neighborhood community.

Updates: The Board of Trustees meeting is upcoming with committee meetings on Wednesday, followed by the Board Social beginning at 6 p.m. in Popko Lounge; the full Board meeting begins with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and the general meeting at 8 a.m.
