Bob Dullea provided the reflection reading excerpts from “This Is Water” speech by David Foster Wallace.

Hiring/Position Evaluation: Michelle Clements updated the Cabinet on the process going forward with regard to job postings (currently there are 61 job postings); position evaluations, MRR reviews, and inquiries about reduced hour work schedules. A message will be sent to university leaders with a reminder that these arrangements and inquiries must go through Human Resources.

Budget Advisory Group: The Budget Advisory Group met prior to the Cabinet meeting, continuing its work with the FY21 budget and approach to the financial repositioning. There is a campus listening session scheduled for Tuesday, Feb 18 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Pigott Auditorium that will be led by the CFO, Provost and EVP. Discussion followed regarding the importance of ongoing communication with the campus.

Cabinet & Deans Feb. 24 Meeting: The Cabinet discussed briefly the Cabinet & Deans meeting on Feb 24. Michelle Clements, Alvin Sturdivant and Dean Kristen Swanson will be meeting on Feb 14 and will provide Fr Sundborg an update on Feb 18.

Meeting Debriefs: Fr Sundborg updated the Cabinet on his recent attendance at the ICW presidents meeting, The AJCU and ACCU presidents meetings. Michelle Clements also reported out on her attendance at the Pathfinders HR conference.

Updates: SU Gives was very successful with a 29% increase in giving and over 2700 gifts. Fr Steve is making calls to people in advance of the Board meeting and his formal retirement announcement. IT will be launching its multi-authentication process.
