The work study opportunities described in this section are available only to students who have financial need as determined by the information provided on the student's Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). While the Student Financial Services Office cannot guarantee jobs for students, resources are available through the Career Engagement Office to assist students in ensuring a successful job search.
The student's Financial Aid Offer Letter lists a maximum gross earnings amount. Once the student has a job, if it appears that they can earn more than their initial award, they should contact Student Financial Services to see if they may be eligible for an increase in their award.
Students may reject their work study awards by logging on to mySeattleu and clicking on Financial Aid to be sent to the Self-Service portal where the student can view their awards and reject as needed. Students can request a reduction in their work study award by contacting Student Financial Services to request an adjustment; sometimes this is done to make more room in the budget for private or Parent PLUS Loans.
Once Student Financial Services has processed the revision request, a revised award letter notification will be sent to the student's SU email address.
