ELL Endorsement

Students who wish to pursue an endorsement in ELL must also have a primary endorsement in a core subject area. This can be either elementary or any core secondary subject area (English, History, Social Studies, Math, or Science).

For students who decide to pursue an ELL endorsement, the MIT program currently offers two pathways:

  1. Applicants who have already completed a minimum of 24 quarter credits of ELL coursework may complete the English Language Learners (ELL) and submit that with their MIT application.
  2. Applicants who have not yet completed the ELL coursework required may do so through Seattle University’s MIT ELL Endorsement Program. This endorsement is only offered for students begining the MIT program with the spring cohort. This program is designed specifically for current and prospective Seattle University MIT students who wish to complete ELL coursework.
