Online Application

Complete Seattle University's  Online Application, which includes the following elements: 
  •  $55 Application Fee*      
  •  For MAEd/MEd : Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution 
  •  For Post-Master's Certificate : Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  •  Official Transcript(s)      
  •  Minimum GPA of 3.0     
    • Calculated from the last 90 quarter/60 semester of the bachelor's degree and any post-baccalaureate or graduate course work. 
    • Applicants with less than a 3.00 GPA and applications from non-graded bachelor's degree programs must submit GRE or MAT scores earned within the last 5 years. 
  •  Statement of Purpose     
    • 1-2 single-spaced typed pages 
    • Describe how your past experiences suggest that a degree or certificate in adult education and training will fit into your future plans    
    • For MAEd/MEd: Explain which of the three specializations within the program are appropriate to your future plans, and describe how that specialization within the adult education and training program will connect your past experiences to your future plans.  
    • For Post-Master's Certificate: Explain how your existing master's degree and this certificate will fit into your future plans to teach at a community college.
  • Resume     
    • Documentation of at least one year's full-time work experience
  • 2 College of Education Recommendation Forms     
    • From recent supervisors  
  • College of Education Self-Evaluation Form

Requirements for International Students  

 
  •  Applicants for whom English is a non-native language must demonstrate English proficiency. 
  •  Graduate and post baccalaureate applicants who received a baccalaureate degree or higher from Seattle University or a recognized college or university in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia who remain in a country where English is the primary language for two years will not be required to submit English proficiency test scores. 
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 580 (92 internet-based or 237 computer-based score) or higher;  
  • Pearson Test of English (63%) 
  • IELTS (7.0) score
