John McCarthy, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in the Department of Counseling and has been a counseling counselor educator since receiving his doctoral degree from the University of Missouri, Kansas City. He has over 60 conference presentations and has delivered seminars in 12 countries. He also has 30 publications and is the author of two books. His professional writings have appeared in Counseling Today, the Psychotherapy Networker, HuffPost.com, Cleveland.com, The Buffalo News, and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. His interests include creativity in counseling, strengths-based approaches in counseling, and international mental health.
