Fireside Chats

In December 2021, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion launched LIFT SU BIPOC Faculty Fireside Chats in partnership with the Offices of the President and Provost. These Fireside Chats were created to hold space for self-identified BIPOC faculty to discuss their unique experiences, including opportunities that could empower their academic lives and challenges that impact faculty retention. Facilitators included Angelique M. Davis, Professor of Political Science and African and American Studies, Sonia Barrios Tinoco, Associate Professor and Chair of the Modern Languages and Cultures Department, and Dr. Meera Deo, the Honorable Vaino Spencer Chair/Professor of Law at Southwestern Law School and author of Unequal Profession.
